Information used

We store account names, email addresses, password hashes, optional profile/contact information, uploaded images, listings, reports, payment references, membership dates, daily visit records, referral codes and loyalty transactions to run this service. Technical records may include IP addresses for rate limiting and hosting/security logs.

Information other people can see

Members can see your display name, selected public contact details, profile image, listing information, days on PaarlTree, login streak and an administrator-issued badge where applicable. Your private membership dates and point balance are not part of the public profile. Public contributor names and amounts appear only with display consent.

Payments and moderation

Yoco handles checkout and card details. We retain order details and payment references, not card numbers. When configured, Sightengine receives uploaded image URLs to screen content. Hosting and email providers process information needed to deliver the service. These providers may process information outside South Africa.

Cookies and browser storage

WordPress uses login/session cookies. Browser storage keeps saved favourites, temporary order tokens and popup preferences. Saved favourites are device-local. This plugin does not install an advertising tracking pixel; any separately added analytics or advertising tools need their own appropriate disclosure.

Retention and your requests

Account, listing and transaction information is retained while needed to operate the service, resolve issues and meet record-keeping obligations. Sold listings may be retained as non-public records; backups and standard media uploads may persist. Contact us to request access, correction or deletion. Some payment/security records may need to be retained. Uploaded media uses standard WordPress URLs; avoid uploading confidential documents.

Security and communications

We use account permissions, payment verification and content screening controls, but cannot promise absolute security. We send operational messages such as receipts, password resets, listing updates and ad-expiry notices. Please do not share account credentials.
